Senior Payment Analyst

The Senior Payment Analyst is responsible for overseeing daily reporting and analytics functions related to payment processing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency of financial transactions, and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

Manages and monitors daily payment processing operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established procedures
Reconciles incoming and outgoing payments, promptly identifying and resolving discrepancies
Prepares and distributes detailed payment activity reports, highlighting trends, exceptions, and opportunities for improvement
Collaborates with internal teams, including Accounting, Collections, and Customer Service, to resolve complex payment issues and ensure proper application
Supports financial audits by providing documentation, analysis, and explanations related to payment transactions
Serves as the primary contact for accounting during daily and monthly reconciliations, assisting in variance resolution
Analyzes transaction data and exception reports to identify risks and recommend process enhancements
Contributes to the development and maintenance of payment processing policies, procedures, and system updates
Assists with process mapping and documentation to support operational clarity and consistency
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and adheres to departmental and organizational policies

Required

Minimum 5 years previous experience in Accounting/Finance, payment processing, financial analysis, or a related role
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving abilities by skillfully gathering, researching, and interpreting data to identify root causes and develop effective, data-driven solutions
Communicates clearly and effectively in both verbal and written formats; actively listens, seeks clarification when needed, and presents information—particularly numerical data—with accuracy and professionalism
Maintains confidentiality and emotional composure while fostering a collaborative environment; listens respectfully, remains receptive to feedback, and contributes to a positive and team-oriented workplace culture
Treating others with professionalism and respect, demonstrates integrity in all interactions, and adheres to organizational policies, procedures, and core values
Consistently meets attendance expectations, takes ownership of responsibilities, adapts well to change, and proactively seeks ways to support colleagues and improve team performance
Overtime required – required on an as needed basis
Travel 0-10% - as required on an as needed basis
Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Atlanta, GA

Preferred

Understanding of cost accounting is a plus
Experience in the accounting and processing of automobile loans and funding is strongly desired
Experience with data and data analysis
