Site Manager

Individual & Family Services

Responsibilities

Manages all components of the early childhood education program operations and maintains a high quality of services to children and families and the community
Supervises, manages workload, and monitors performance of assigned Assistant Site Managers, Cook Supervisor, administrative staff, maintenance staff, and other staff as assigned. This includes hiring and training staff, Implementing the organization’s personnel policies and practices, approval of timecards, performance appraisals, performance improvement plans, leaves, promotions, salary changes, terminations, and documentation of all personnel actions
Site manager supports and teaches in classrooms as needed
Participates in the development and management of the center budget that includes program expenses, inventory control, purchasing of supplies and equipment, and budget revisions
Works closely with the Finance Department to ensure accuracy and timeliness of fiscal reporting
Prepares grant applications, quarterly reports, and other essential documents and correspondence as required
Collaborates with the Development Department as needed in the grant submission process and in developing/maintaining donor relationships and addressing fundraising opportunities
Ensures that the program is in compliance with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), and city and state regulations and requirements at all times
Supervises, in collaboration with assistant site managers, substitutes and ensures that they meet all program required documentation and qualifications
May supervise interns

Required

Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or closely related field with a minimum of 24 hours of Early Childhood Education classes required
Illinois Gateways to Opportunity Early Childhood Education Level 5 Credential required
Illinois Gateways to Opportunity Director Level 2 Credential required or must obtain within 12 months of employment
A minimum of three years' Early Childhood program management experience required
Demonstrates effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
Demonstrates ability for planning, implementation, and assessing administrative and programmatic systems and activities
Must be proficient in speaking, reading and writing in the English language
Ability to drive and access to a personal vehicle required

Preferred

Supervisory experience strongly preferred
Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish preferred
