Responsibilities
Make credit decisions on conventional mortgage and home equity loan applications
Review income, asset, credit and appraisal documents
Provide support to the senior underwriting staff by reviewing loan conditions regarding credit, income, and collateral risk
Work within specified time frames to assist in closing loans in a timely manner
Maintains the confidentiality of the information reviewed
Maintains and improves personal knowledge and skills
Ensuring compliance with company policies and guidelines
Analyzing risk and requesting additional documentation as necessary
Staying up to date agency guidelines, products and recent regulatory changes
Performs other duties as requested by manager
Provide exceptional servicing support to customers and loan officers
Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or related field
0-5 years relevant work experience or internship experience in finance, mortgage, accounting, banking or related field
Self-motivated and proactive
Detail-oriented and highly organized. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Ability to lead by example and participate as an effective member; conducts self as a professional
Excellent customer service skills
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Ability to work in a team environment to resolve problems
Proficient computer skills
Exceptional customer service skills
Willingness to accept additional responsibilities. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
