Responsibilities
Lead financial reporting for operations in emerging markets, with a primary focus on Latin America operations, ensuring consistency and compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal policies
Serve as the primary liaison between Latin America finance teams and corporate stakeholders, providing accounting guidance, resolving reporting issues, and supporting business initiatives
Conduct Source of Earnings (SOE) and financial statement analysis to explain profitability drivers by distribution channels and other attributes to support strategic decision-making and performance management
Collaborate with PII and Latin America actuarial partners in the annual assumption update process, including unit cost, policyholder experience, and other key assumptions update
Support Oracle system enhancements in local operations and other financial management automation initiatives to improve reporting efficiency, data integrity, and analytical capabilities
Lead results review package by providing insights and context behind financial outcomes. Collaborate with Investor Relations and senior leadership to develop clear, compelling financial storytelling that aligns with business performance and strategy
Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K), including footnotes, MD&A, and earnings materials
Prepare and review technical accounting memos on complex transactions
Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit deliverables
Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) in accordance with SOX
Qualification
Required
Bachelor or Graduate degree in Accounting/Finance
In-depth technical and working knowledge of US GAAP
Experience with business transactions
Minimum eight (8) years of related experience
Proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office applications
Strongly demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and research skills
Excellently displayed verbal and written communication skills
Strongly demonstrated project management and organizational skills
Team player and results focused
Comfortable working independently
Flexibility to devote additional effort during peak periods
Preferred
CPA designation or candidate is a plus
Financial reporting software experience (Oracle)
