Qualification

Surgical Technician CertificationCurrent OR experienceSurgical instrumentationSeptic techniqueEndoscope handlingAdherence to I.C.A.R.E. standardsSensitivity to patient rights

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Surgical Technician Certification required- ARC/STSA – Accredited Surgical Technology Program - NBSTSA – Certification is conferred by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
Current experience in OR or Ambulatory Surgery setting is required
Ability to adhere to all I.C.A.R.E. standards
Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment
Knowledge of septic and aseptic technique and be conscious of both at all times
Knowledge of care and safe handling of endoscopes
Demonstrate awareness of/sensitivity to patient/family rights and cultural/religious beliefs and age-specific needs
