Research Intern (Academic Credit) - Department of Neurology - Per Diem (On-site)

Responsibilities
This internship will provide an introduction to clinical research
The intern will be taught the importance of human subject’s protection, HIPAA, research compliance, IRB review, data entry, and detailed records and logs
This internship will provide experience with clinical research trial set up, data review, data abstraction, data entry, and overall clinical research study workflow experience
They will learn about acute ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, other neurological disorders, stroke prevention, and different treatments
They will also learn about the importance of human subject protection, HIPAA, and research compliance
Completion of citiprogram courses, GCP, HIPAA, research compliance, and review of research protocols and overview of stroke research program
Research study specific training, data abstraction, and data entry training
Continue assisting with data entry and data abstraction projects, attend study meetings, assist with patient visits and help with research workflow, and literature reviews
Qualification
Required
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have a HS Diploma or GED
Must reside in the greater Los Angeles area or surrounding cities while conducting all activities related to the intern or visitor appointment
INTERNS: Those participating for academic credit must receive academic credit for the duration of the internship
VISITORS: Must be receiving funding from an eligible sponsoring institution (employer, educator, funder, etc.)
