INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT MANAGER III (HAZARDOUS MATERIALS COORDINATOR) (CLASS CODE 3417)
The City of New Orleans is seeking an Infrastructure Project Manager III to develop, coordinate, and implement hazardous materials and waste management plans for the Sewerage and Water Board. The role involves complex assignments, including specialized investigations and compliance monitoring related to hazardous materials and waste management.

Responsibilities
Develop, coordinate and implement hazardous materials and waste management plans and projects for the Sewerage and Water Board
Perform specialized investigations and inspections of solid, liquid and hazardous materials/waste facilities
Obtain compliance with laws and ordinances governing hazardous materials
Prepare, control, monitor and ensure compliance relative to hazardous materials and waste management remediation
Organize training programs and present in-house staff training on hazardous materials and solid waste issues and technology
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Information Technology, Geology, Chemistry, Biology or related field
A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field
Six (6) years of professional construction or technical project management related experience two years of which must have included experience in solid, liquid or hazardous waste management, environmental inspections, industrial remediation practices, or in a research and resources recovery program in a hazardous materials and/or solid waste program
Possession of a current Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) issued by the Project Management Institute and three (3) additional years of project management experience earned after the receipt of a PMP Certification two years of which must have included experience in solid, liquid or hazardous waste management, environmental inspections, industrial remediation practices, or in a research and resources recovery program in a hazardous materials and/or solid waste program
Completion of the following certifications and Training are required prior to the end of the probationary period: EPA RCRA Hazardous Generator Training, OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER TRAINING, DOT Hazardous Materials Training, Certified Asbestos Inspector (LDEQ), Certified Lead Paint Inspector (LDEQ)
