Responsibilities

Assists the Pharmacy department by preparing or distributing medications for use by patients

Transcribes abbreviated and symbolized information from physicians’ orders onto patient medication profiles through manual and computer entry

Selects and/or prepares medications, pharmaceutical products, intravenous admixtures

Performs repetitive and manipulative activities which primarily consist of drug distribution duties, pre-packaging, stocking and maintaining drug inventory in the automated dispensing cabinets and Carousel

Sterile and non-sterile compounding

Record keeping

Billing

Ensures medication security

Qualification

CA Pharmacy Technician registrationSterile compoundingPharmacy Technician Board CertifiedRelated experienceDiploma

Required

High school diploma or equivalent GED

Three (3) years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

Valid CA Pharmacy Technician registration

Completion of CMH sterile compounding core skills evaluation within ninety (90) days of hire

Preferred

Pharmacy Technician Board Certified

Certificate from college or technical school
