4P Consulting Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lighting Service Engineer to support lighting design and maintenance activities for Southern Company operations. The ideal candidate will perform system design and service support while managing fieldwork and collaborating with internal teams.

Responsibilities

Perform lighting system design, inspection, and service support
Independently manage fieldwork, including driving between sites
Conduct outdoor assessments in extreme weather and uneven terrain
Use basic hand tools (e.g., hammer stakes) for field setup and validation
Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders on lighting project requirements
Maintain accurate documentation and data input using Microsoft Office and internal tools
Track and report progress on lighting-related service tasks
Apply sound judgment and attention to detail in all aspects of work completion

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related Technical discipline
Valid driver's license and personal vehicle (car or truck) for job site visits
Ability to work outdoors in Alabama climate extremes (heat, cold, etc.)
Comfortable walking on uneven terrain and performing light physical labor
Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred

Prior Southern Company (SOCO) Co-op or relevant utility experience
Lighting Design experience within a Distribution or Transmission context
Familiarity with APC priority computer programs
