Responsibilities

Assist clinicians and providers with orthopedic casting procedures, including the application and removal of casts and splints
Support routine examination and treatment procedures such as wound care and dressing changes
Ensure continuity of post-operative care by providing casting, splinting, and bracing services

Qualification

Registered Orthopedic TechnologistOrthopedic Technology programClinical experience in castingElectronic health recordsSelf-directionProfessional attitudeWound care experienceBasic Life Support/CPREffective communication skillsInitiative

Required

Require current licensure as a Registered Orthopedic Technologist
Require graduate of an accredited Registered Orthopedic Technology (ROT) program
Require one (1) year of clinical experience in applying, adjusting, and removing casts
HS EQ High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
BLS Basic Life Support/CPR

Preferred

Prefer demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills
Prefer experience utilizing electronic health records
Prefer demonstrated initiative and self-direction
Prefer demonstrated professional and caring attitude to patients, co-workers, and all customers of the organization
Prefer previous experience with wound care, wound vacuum, dressing changes in a hospital, clinic or office practice. as well as general surgery and/or trauma experience
