Amalgamated Sugar Company is a leader in the sugar industry, seeking a Project Engineer - Controls 2 at their Twin Falls, ID plant. The role involves designing and implementing capital improvements to the sugar refinery, managing multiple process improvement projects, and providing technical assistance in new equipment installation.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage process improvement projects

Projects may include, but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, and chemical systems in a heavy industrial environment

Applicants must have the ability to manage multiple projects, prepare budgets and proposals, coordinate efforts of several departments and provide a leadership role in the development, installation, and monitoring of each project through commissioning

Additionally, this position provides technical assistance in new equipment installation and commissioning, developing, and managing extra-ordinary budgets and proper account allocation, helps maintain database historian, as well as performs technical studies

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering required, preferably in Automation or Electrical engineering

A professional engineering license or the desire to obtain a license is a plus

5 years' experience with Electrical Controls

PLC programming ideally Rockwell

HMI programming ideally Factory Talk and PanelView

Electrical Drives power and controls

Ethernet networking of devices to PLC (VFD's, instruments…)

Basic electrical power distribution

Considerable experience in processing systems in a manufacturing environment and current Engineering design practices

Ability to manage multiple projects, prepare budgets and proposals, coordinate efforts of several departments and provide a leadership role in the development, installation, and monitoring of each project through commissioning

Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply

Ability to commute/relocate to Twin Falls, ID

Preferred

Prefer candidate possess knowledge and incorporate/practice GMP, food safety and food quality in all engineered planning, design, construction, and operation

Experience with process control is a plus
