Responsibilities
Civil design, landfill design, and site layout
Geotechnical engineering analyses such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, seismic, and seepage
Dam inspections, evaluation, and design
Geotechnical and environmental site characterization
Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems
Project/task management and proposal preparation support
Construction quality assurance oversight and management
Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications; and
Fieldwork associated with design and construction services
Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil, water resources or geotechnical engineering or a related field
Professional registration (i.e., P.E. P.G.)
At least 8 years directly relevant experience in a consulting environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of relevant geotechnical engineering software (e.g., seepage and slope stability)
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed
Excellent writing and communication skills
Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
Preferred
Advanced degree in earth science, geotechnical engineering or a related field
Knowledge of numerical modeling tools
Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers
