Responsibilities
Assist the OR team in the care of patients, equipment and supplies
Handle the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure
Understand the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon
Ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure
Maintain the sterile field
Assist the surgeon and/or surgical assistant during the operative procedure by carrying out tasks including sponging, suctioning, cutting suture, holding retractors and manipulating the endoscopic camera
Qualification
Required
Associates Degree or Vocational School Graduate or equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of degree
Certified Surgical Technician (CST) required
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required
Two years' general OR experience required
Preferred
Technician in Surgery (NCCT) preferred
Certified Operating Room Technician preferred
CVOR experience preferred
