Responsibilities
Assist the OR team in the care of patients, equipment and supplies
Handle instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure
Understand the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon
Ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and maintain the sterile field
Assist the surgeon and/or surgical assistant during the operative procedure by carrying out tasks including sponging, suctioning, cutting suture, holding retractors and manipulating the endoscopic camera
Qualification
Required
Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT)
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required upon hire
Two years prior experience in a similar size facility with similar services provided
Must be competent to perform as lead in all of the following specialty areas: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, Burn and Vascular Surgery
Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
