Responsibilities

Operates Specialized Equipment /Radiation Safety: Operates specialized radiographic and invasive procedure equipment

Understands needs and identifies needed supplies appropiately for invasive procedures. Ensures supplies available for procedures

Employs radiation protection devices and techniques as required

Independently assists physician as scrub person and operates fluoroscopic/specialized equipment safely

Understands and practices sterile technique

Orients new employees as related to special procedure technologist duties

Participates in departmental performance improvement activities

Fulfills assigned on call obligations

Qualification

Radiology Technologist certificationCardiovascular Technologist certificationRegistered Cardiovascular Interventional SpecialistBLS certificationACLS certificationSterile techniqueRadiation safetyPatient care

Required

Completion of an accredited and approved Radiology Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist program

Current Registered Radiographer (ARRT), a certification as a Radiology Technician or Cardiovascular Technologist; Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) credential preferred

American Red Cross or American Heart Association (BLS OR BCLS, and ALS OR ACLS) Course Completion and Certification
