Timpanogos Regional Hospital is a full-service hospital dedicated to delivering compassionate care. They are seeking a First Assistant Tech for Vein Harvesting to support CV surgeons during procedures and ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Provide immediate support and assistance to the CV surgeon during procedures
Help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the surgical patient
Review the upcoming surgical schedule and assist the Tech Service Specialist in ensuring physician preference cards are updated on a regular basis
Act as a liaison for the surgeons in implementation of new products and equipment
Coordinate with the sales reps to ensure proper equipment and supplies are available for upcoming cases
Keep all team members informed of upcoming cases and needs
Gather data and ensure that data entered into STS is accurate and timely
Act as a content expert for the CVOR specialties and act as a resource to the rest of the staff and the surgeons
Participate in the quality improvement activities and gathering of metrics to keep service performing at the highest level
Plan and participate in service-specific team meetings and trainings
Create a positive learning environment and assist with orientation of other team members and serve as a preceptor to new FA staff members or students
Be responsible for formulation and updating protocols for specialty in coordination with RN and Tech Service Specialists
Foster positive physician relationships and quality care within service areas

Required

American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) Certification Required
Surgical Technologist Certificate (CST) and Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist (CSFA) and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent Required
Must maintain Required education and certification Required
High School Diploma or GED Required
Minimum of two (2) Years of experience required, must have 200 verified patients during the past 12 months, or demonstrated completion of training within the past 12 months Required
