Responsibilities
Identifies and documents patients, family and significant other education needs in collaboration with other disciplines and participates in on-going education
Always acts in the best interests of the patient and their family considering medical problems and treatment precautions. Performs only neurodiagnostic tests that are permitted by the American Society of Electron euro-diagnostic Technologists
Observes all precautions when treating medically compromised patients
Quickly and appropriately responds to fire alarms by serving as a member of “fire brigade”
Maintains an orderly and safe work area
Demonstrates accuracy in the assessment, evaluation and treatment of the patients upon physician orders
Considers patient/family goals, home environment, learning needs and support system during evaluation
Determines the patient’s mental age, mental state and comprehension level
Provides patient care based upon the patient’s condition, needs, medical assessment and evaluation
Explain all test procedures including activation procedures, electrode application method (paste, collodion, etc.) to patient/family or significant other
Interact at a level appropriate to all specific age groups
Accommodate patient disabilities or special needs. Determines the need for additional physiological monitors
Documents are unusual or inappropriate behavior, suggestive of seizure of pseudo seizures
Qualification
Required
Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
(ARRT-R) Radiography, or (RCIS) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
Vocational School Graduate, or Associate Degree
