Responsibilities

Perform highly specialized diagnostic procedures utilizing advanced magnetic resonance imaging techniques
Receive patients, explain method of procedure and safety precautions, start IVs as required, position patients, and counsel patients regarding the risks/benefits of the procedure
Establish and oversee the maintenance of a quality control program in the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Section
Responsible for all major and minor equipment held in the MRI Section
Train subordinates in performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Radiology Certification: Public Law 97-35 requires that persons who administer radiologic procedures meet the credentialing standards in 42 CFR Part 75
Must have successfully completed an educational program that meets or exceeds the standards described in that regulation, and is accredited by an organization recognized by the Department of Education
Must be certified as radiographers in their field
One year of specialized experience which includes performing diagnostic radiologic examinations, assisting with magnetic resonance imaging, and performing quality assurance
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Diagnostic Radiology/Radiography
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%
Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact
Moderate to heavy lifting up to 40 pounds is required
