Start in 2026 SummerFarm Bureau Financial Services has a new internship opportunity available for individuals to gain experience in the crop insurance industry. The Crop Insurance Intern will participate in a full crop insurance cycle, learning alongside Regional Crop Consultants and gaining exposure to various lines of insurance with a primary focus on crop insurance.

Responsibilities
Participate in a full crop insurance cycle alongside one of the department’s Regional Crop Consultants
Learn Multi-Peril, Crop Hail, Private Products, Pasture, Rangeland, and Forage, and the Livestock policy types
Job shadow Ag Marketing Underwriters and Agents to witness how different lines of insurance work
Meet with Rain and Hail’s marketing and claim representatives
Spend 70% of work time learning in the field and 30% processing crop insurance paperwork in an office
Present what was learned to the state management team at the end of the internship
Qualification
Required
Be a current college student
Strong knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel is required
Be an effective communicator, have excellent customer service skills, and be team focused
Be available to work at least 30 hours per week during the time of the internship
Preferred
Preferred ag or business related major
Farmer and Rancher looking to supplement ag income
Have a genuine interest in a career path in the insurance/agriculture industry
