ZARRELLCO is a well-established and growing engineering consulting firm seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Water Resources Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team. The role involves leading hydrologic and hydraulic assessments, managing project budgets and schedules, and overseeing stream restoration efforts across various technical projects.

Staffing & Recruiting

Responsibilities

Lead hydrologic/hydraulic assessments on public and private work
Conduct geomorphologic assessments and sediment transport modeling
Oversee stream restoration efforts from site evaluation through construction oversight
Manage project budgets, schedules, teams, and client relationships
Prepare technical documents including reports, plans, specifications, and construction schedules
Develop work scopes and cost estimates
Review engineering plans and specifications
Perform and oversee construction engineering and observation tasks
Contribute to broader company initiatives and support multidisciplinary project efforts

Required

Bachelor's degree (minimum) in civil or environmental engineering, hydrology, water resources, construction management, or a closely related discipline
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required; must be able to obtain licensure in Colorado within six months if not already held
8+ years of relevant engineering experience
Strong background in hydrology and hydraulics
Proficiency in 1D and 2D hydraulic modeling software
Experience with construction plan review and observation
Skilled in Civil 3D, GIS, and general computer literacy
Proven project management and staff coordination abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead both technically and operationally within a collaborative environment

Preferred

Stream restoration and geomorphology experience
Familiarity with geotechnical principles is a plus
