Water/Wastewater Engineer - Project Technical Lead

Responsibilities
Promote of Stantec’s project delivery structure that includes Project Managers and Project Technical Leads
Provide technical guidance and leadership in the development of innovative technical solutions for water and/or wastewater projects
Manage and execute conventional design-bid-build and alternate delivery of new and existing water, recycled water, and wastewater treatment and conveyance projects
Direct the work of, communicate effectively, and coordinate with project teams including multiple disciplines (drafters, designers, and other engineers)
Develop and prepare reports, planning studies, specifications, calculations, detailed design drawings, construction submittal reviews, models and other technical deliverables for treatment, conveyance, and infrastructure related projects
Communicate effectively and coordinate with clients on projects during planning, design, and construction
Support Stantec’s reputation for innovation and research through participation in California conferences, professional associations, and academic partnerships
Mentor young professionals in the California offices
Work effectively in partnership with BC leadership, the Project Pursuit teams and PMs, and proactively coordinate activities undertaken by project teams in both local and remote offices
Understand and proactively satisfy client’s needs and expectations
Ensure activities are planned and completed in an efficient and timely manner
Working inclusively with the client, stakeholders, the PM and the project team
Connect the Client, PM, independent reviewers and the project team to the project’s technical solutions
Provide support and guidance for personnel in the project team who have PTL aspirations
Proactively identify, capture, and reuse Intellectual Property (IP)
Comply with Stantec safety procedures and protocols
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum 8 years of experience in water, recycled water, and/or wastewater infrastructure projects
Experience in evaluation, planning, design and construction administration of water, recycled water, and/or wastewater infrastructure projects
Experience in alternatives analysis; treatment plant, pump station, and pipeline design
Experience in engineering services during construction
Project management experience
Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership
Ability to manage and execute conventional design-bid-build and alternate delivery of projects
Ability to develop and prepare reports, planning studies, specifications, calculations, detailed design drawings, construction submittal reviews, models and other technical deliverables
Effective communication skills with clients and project teams
Ability to mentor young professionals
Ability to work effectively in partnership with leadership and project teams
Ability to understand and proactively satisfy client's needs and expectations
Ability to plan and complete activities in an efficient and timely manner
Ability to work inclusively with clients, stakeholders, and project teams
Ability to connect clients, project managers, independent reviewers, and project teams to technical solutions
