Internal Traveler - NNP / NPA

Responsibilities

Demonstrates excellence in practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient, family and staff education
Performs a complete history and physical on new admissions and daily examinations and documents findings in medical record
Generates problem lists and differential diagnoses based on clinical findings
Creates a comprehensive treatment plan including laboratory, diagnostic testing and medications as indicated
Effectively utilizes healthcare resources and communicates with other members of the healthcare team to provide family support, and discharge planning
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Registered Nursing License in the State of Virginia or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license required at time of hire
Current Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) required at time of hire
Current state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia required at time of hire
Current National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification required at time of hire
Current prescriptive authority from the licensure Board of Medicine from the Commonwealth of Virginia and DEA registration from the Drug Enforcement Administration required at time of hire
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training required at time of hire or must be obtained within 45 days of hire
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) training required at time of hire or must be obtained within 45 days of hire
Master's degree in Neonatal Nursing Practitioner is required
Must provide record of completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing
Three or more years of nursing experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) required
Continuous re-certification and/or maintenance of state licensure, certification, educational and application requirements is required during employment
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program required
Must provide record of completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing
Continuous re-certification and/or maintenance of state licensure, certification, educational and application requirements is required during employment
Execution of a Non-Competition, Confidentiality and Non-Solicitation Agreement is required
Ability to travel locally between facilities is required

Preferred

One or more years of experience as a Physician Assistant experience in a Neonatal setting preferred
