UICGS / Bowhead Family of Companies is seeking a Metrology Engineer to provide technical and engineering support at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, IN. The role involves performing duties with minimal supervision, reviewing specifications for test equipment, and conducting research on TMDE.

Responsibilities

Perform duties with minimal supervision and management intervention

Review specifications for test, measurement and diagnostics equipment

Identify TMDE measurements, calculate test accuracy ratios, provide a Calibration Measurement Report to document technical requirements an anlaysis

Conduct research on TMDE, identify obsolete TMDE and provide recommendations to replace obsolete TMDE

Determine whether TMDE is supported by the Navy Metrology and Calibration Program; coordinate and communicate with NSWC Crane, NSWC Corona and customers on workload assigned

Create data records to support technical analysis/reviews

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering with five (5) to eight (8+) years of experience, however additional experience may be substituted for formal education for highly qualified candidates

Substantial experience in metrology science and calibration

Sufficient hardware experience to identify and solve hardware problems associated with design, development, and integration of high reliability systems

Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts

Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level

US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location
