Project Engineer III - Water/Wastewater

CPH is a full-service architecture and engineering firm with a growing presence in Florida, seeking a Project Engineer III in Water/Wastewater for their Gainesville market. The role involves leading engineering projects, overseeing technical and management aspects, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while delivering high-quality infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed project plans, including defining the scope of work, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for complex water and wastewater projects
Ensure adherence to timelines and budget constraints while meeting client objectives
Provide advanced engineering design expertise, particularly in hydraulic modeling, treatment and storage systems, and water/sewer pumping systems
Lead the development of innovative solutions for transmission, distribution, collection, and storage challenges
Stormwater project experience is beneficial but is not a requirement
Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies through to design, permitting, construction, and close-out
Ensure that project deliverables align with regulatory standards and best practices for water and wastewater infrastructure
Ensure that all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental permitting processes
Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies to secure necessary permits and approvals
Serve as a mentor to junior engineers, providing guidance and feedback to enhance their technical and professional development
Lead and manage project teams to ensure successful project execution
Periodic travel to perform business development, project management, site investigations, and construction administration
Collaborate with project engineers in other offices
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and successful outcomes
Perform other duties as assigned
Contribute to business growth by playing a role in business development by building quality client relationships, contributing to proposals and demonstrating CPH expertise to potential clients

Required

Florida licensed engineer
Strong technical expertise in utility space
Comprehensive skill set/expertise across technical focus areas inclusive of environmental, water/wastewater, water resources, stormwater, and public utilities
Hands-on technical experience and knowledge
Understanding and track record of success in delivering projects in alignment with quality standards set forth by the client
Knowledge of permitting and compliance
Strong technical expertise paired with great people skills
Effective communication skills
Ability to communicate in an articulate manner with clients regarding proposed solutions
High sense of business acumen
Proven track record of ensuring clients experience minimal risk in final execution of projects with high focus on quality control
Significant expertise in water, wastewater, and stormwater systems, including design, permitting, compliance, and construction operations
Strong leadership skills

Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate travel to meetings and project deadlines
Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated
B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering with a P.E. License in the state of Florida
At least 8+ years of relevant experience in a consulting engineering firm

Preferred

WaterCAD, AutoCAD, REVIT, BioWin, BlueBeam, ICPR experience
Ability to obtain additional state licensure through reciprocity
Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, Sketchup and Adobe Suite or BlueBeam experience
