Under the supervision of a surgeon, to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that the equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety
Qualification
Required
Completion of an accredited surgical technology program with certification
Certification of Surgical Technology maintained through NBSTSA required or possess on the job training and experience as a Surgical Technologist prior to 09/01/2009
CPR/BLS certification
Preferred
Two (2) years experience as a Certified Surgical Tech working in the operating room environment
