Technical Associate I, Dorkenwald Lab
Massachusetts Institute of Technology is seeking a Technical Associate I for the McGovern Institute for Dorkenwald Lab to work on computational projects and support neuroscience studies in connectomics. Work on computational projects and support neuroscience studies in connectomics
Developing computational infrastructure
Designing machine learning segmentation and classification pipelines
Creating visualization and UI tools
Processing, storing, and disseminating large datasets
Optimizing and parallelizing workflows to run on compute clusters
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, neuroscience or related field
two years of experience, which can be lab work from an undergraduate experience and/or post educational experience
relevant experience in computer science, engineering, or related technical field that involves computing, signal processing, or technical standards development
experience with Linux operating systems
shell scripting (e.g., bash, csh)
software development (preferably with Python)
Preferred
Experience with data processing workflows
familiarity or willingness to work with backend technology and database management
experience working with high-performance computing clusters and schedulers
familiarity with basic machine learning classifiers (random forests, logistic regression, etc.)
