Technical Associate II, Bathe Lab
MIT Office of Resource Development is seeking a Technical Associate II in Biological Engineering to join a cutting-edge research team focused on advancing chemical synthesis, therapeutics, and vaccine development. The role involves conducting independent research, supporting DNA/RNA synthesis and purification, and coordinating lab operations and safety compliance.

Responsibilities
Perform independent research and support DNA/RNA synthesis purification, and conjugation using solid-phase, enzymatic, and organic chemistry techniques
Conduct quantitative analysis via PCR, HPLC, electrophoresis, and mass spectrometry
Responsible for ordering lab supplies and reagents
Coordinate lab operations, safety compliance, protocol development, and equipment maintenance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related field
A minimum of four years' specialized lab experience in research or industry, with expertise in solid-phase nucleic acid synthesis, purification, and biochemical analysis
Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to plan, execute, and troubleshoot experiments independently
Strong organizational and communication skills, with a commitment to maintaining precise documentation
Must adapt to evolving lab needs and work both independently and collaboratively
Ability to follow complex protocols and conduct independent research
Willingness to learn new techniques and occasionally work evenings or weekends, as needed
No travel required
Preferred
Master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related technical field
Strong interest in a long-term role, contributing to the continuity and success of the lab's ongoing research initiatives
