Responsibilities
Review and interpret complex clinical documentation to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT codes for physician and outpatient services
Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with official guidelines, payer rules, and regulatory requirements
Analyze coding and documentation discrepancies and collaborate with providers or departments for clarification when needed
Resolve coding-related denials, edits, and rejections to support clean claim submission
Meet or exceed department productivity and accuracy standards
Participate in internal audits and assist in maintaining high audit readiness
Serve as a resource for Professional Billing Coder I team members; may provide mentoring or informal training support
Stay current with updates to coding systems, payer guidelines, and industry best practices
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL CODER (CPC)
HS DIPLOMA/GED
Minimum of 2+ years of experience as certified coder
