Network Operations Engineer - Computing Services
Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Computing Services is searching for a Network Operations Engineer. This role involves providing essential support for the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of LAN and WAN networks.

Responsibilities
Monitor and ensure the security and reliability of network infrastructure
Collect and analyze data to evaluate network performance, diagnose issues, and define user and system requirements
Deploy, configure, manage, and monitor Wireless, LAN, and WAN environments, including routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, 802.11 wireless LANs, TCP/IP, Ethernet, SNMP, and VPN technologies
Maintain accurate and current network documentation
Provide tier 3 support for complex network issues, performing advanced troubleshooting and implementing effective solutions
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
1–3 years of experience in network administration and/or network security administration
Successful background check
Preferred
CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification highly desired
Experience and/or certification with Cisco Systems or Aruba Networks wireless infrastructure preferred; other wireless vendor experience also valued
