Responsibilities

Lead in-depth reverse engineering of Android malware, including identifying malicious payloads, obfuscation strategies, and communication protocols
Design and implement detection rules for behavior-based security engines
Conduct technical research on adversary TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures) to inform detection development
Build proactive detection models using both static and dynamic analysis engines
Perform large-scale threat hunting and detection gap analysis to identify false positives and negatives
Respond to detection efficacy escalations and support incident response efforts
Collaborate with engineering, research, and product teams to drive secure and effective mobile defense capabilities
Develop automation and alerting systems to enhance threat identification
Leverage machine learning to support advanced detection logic
Remain current on Android OS developments, cyber threat trends, and evasion techniques

Required

3–5+ years of combined hands-on experience in mobile forensics and malware analysis
3–5+ years of combined hands-on experience in Android reverse engineering (non-Java platforms including Unity, Xamarin, Flutter)
3–5+ years of combined hands-on experience in binary analysis, CTF participation, and penetration testing
3–5+ years of combined hands-on experience in Android development, ART/Dalvik VM
Strong foundation in reverse engineering techniques: Static Analysis: Decompiled/higher-level review, disassembly, code audits
Strong foundation in reverse engineering techniques: Dynamic Analysis: Debugging, fuzzing, and runtime monitoring
Strong foundation in reverse engineering techniques: Data Analysis: Mining, extraction, and pattern recognition
Familiarity with key tools and platforms: IDA Pro, Ghidra, JADX, Frida, ADB, JDWP, tcpdump, Wireshark
Familiarity with key tools and platforms: Emulators (BlueStack, Android Studio), interception (BurpSuite, HTTP Toolkit)
Familiarity with key tools and platforms: Pattern detection tools (Yara, SNORT, SEMGREP), CyberChef
Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems, networking fundamentals, and protocol-level communication
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Android: 5 years (Required)
