Responsibilities
Develop and enforce lab safety protocols, conduct training, and keep the lab organized
Set up workstations for 3D printing, laser cutting, soldering, machining, and painting, ensuring safety compliance
Oversee daily lab operations, coordinate with teams, and manage consumables
Perform routine equipment maintenance and manage parts inventory, kitting, shipping, and receiving
Assemble, cable, align, and calibrate mechanical and electrical systems
Support experiments with basic testing, data logging, and reporting
Qualification
Required
5–10 years of experience in lab management, robotics, or automation
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
Familiarity with machine shop setup, lab safety protocols, and PPE standards
Strong mechanical and electrical assembly skills, including cabling, alignment, and calibration
Proficient in inventory management, kitting, and coordinating shipping/receiving
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to oversee lab operations and cross-team coordination
Requires 5 days/week in-office collaboration with the teams
Preferred
Experience with automation systems or autonomous vehicles
Hands-on experience with 3D printing, soldering, welding, drilling, and cutting
Has supported robotic system integration, maintenance, and mechatronic assembly
Has supervised and mentored junior technicians
