8+ years expQuatrro Business Support Services is seeking a Director of Accounting to join our nonprofit team in a hybrid role based in Detroit, MI. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead end-to-end accounting processes for multiple nonprofit clients, with a strong emphasis on project accounting and grant compliance.

Responsibilities
Deliver accurate and timely financial statements, coaching, and counseling to stakeholders and operations managers to help improve margins and impact their bottom line
Oversee and manage project accounting functions, including tracking project budgets, costs, and timelines to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with nonprofit funding requirements
Lead budget processes and incorporate periodic analytics
Work closely with clients to solve issues related to complicated financial statement situations
Monitor finances to aid clients functioning within those guidelines, and provide financial analysis and advice to clients
Provide best practices within Quatrro to help the client improve their business execution
Coordinate with other internal Quatrro teams for consultative support on all financial services
Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to cross-functional teams aligned to a particular client delivery process
Address client concerns and issues to ensure they are resolved promptly and dealt with according to client satisfaction
Qualification
Required
4-year degree in accounting, finance, or business with an accounting/finance focus
Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting and finance
Experience working with Not-For-Profit organizations
Demonstrated experience in project accounting, including tracking budgets, costs, and timelines across multiple projects
Versed in federal, city, and state grant administration, including compliance, budgeting, and allocation
Proven success providing consulting services to multiple clients at once
Demonstrated people management experience and success leading a team of direct reports, with a focus on coaching and developing Senior Accountants and Accounting Managers
Advanced knowledge of federal and state tax laws
Ability to manage multiple priorities and functions in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Advanced knowledge of industry-specific accounting software and advanced Excel skills
Deep understanding of accounting principles and processes
Experienced in creating processes and efficiencies
Strong business acumen and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated success working collaboratively and building relationships with key stakeholders and C-level executives
Preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
MBA degree
Experience in a consulting or business process outsourcing (BPO) environment
Proven success leading both in-person and decentralized/virtual teams
