Responsibilities
Direct and manage consulting engineering teams across multiple projects
Oversee MEP design development and construction documentation
Review and approve technical specifications for compliance with client requirements
Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness
Serve as technical expert for MEP systems throughout project lifecycle
Resolve complex technical challenges through risk-based decision-making
Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and commissioning agents
Ensure seamless integration of MEP systems with overall facility design
Act as technical point of contact for hyperscale clients on MEP matters
Participate in design reviews and client coordination meetings
Translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
Build and maintain equipment supplier relationships
Research emerging technologies in data center mechanical and electrical systems
Evaluate new cooling technologies, heat exchangers, and efficiency improvements
Contribute to R&D initiatives for next-generation facility design
Support long-lead equipment procurement planning
Qualification
Required
7-12 years in MEP engineering and project management
Deep expertise in data center mechanical and electrical systems
Proven track record managing consulting engineers and technical teams
Hyperscale or mission-critical facility development experience
Understanding of both mechanical and electrical disciplines
Advanced knowledge of data center cooling systems (air-cooled, liquid-cooled, hybrid)
Expertise in electrical distribution, backup power, and switchgear
Understanding of commissioning processes and operational readiness
Familiarity with industry standards (Uptime Institute, ASHRAE)
Design review, constructability analysis, and risk assessment capabilities
Exceptional communication skills with client-facing confidence
Proactive and self-directed with strong ownership mentality
Critical thinker who makes sound risk-based decisions
Multidisciplinary mindset understanding system integration
Team-oriented with collaborative approach
Comfortable in lean, fast-paced, evolving environment
