Driveability & Emissions Calibration Engineer

FCA is a company focused on developing optimal engine calibrations to meet drivability metrics while ensuring emissions compliance. The Calibration Engineer will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of development, from conceptual phase to subsystem and vehicle level validation, working closely with a team of calibration engineers.

Responsibilities

Developing the optimal engine calibration to meet drivability metrics along with ensuring optimal emissions and fuel economy
Responsible for the calibration maturity and development of sub features resulting in an overall optimal propulsion system
Carrying out responsibilities across all different types of propulsion system concepts, including varying levels of electrification
Delivering system level functional objectives mainly related to emissions compliance

Required

Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering
Minimum of eight years of total work experience, with at least five years of experience related to engine system development including related technologies and subsystems such as combustion, valvetrain, fuel system, boost systems, EGR systems, aftertreatment systems, controls and its algorithm including diagnostics
Feature calibration experience with exposure to optimizing drivability, emissions, and fuel economy
Data acquisition experience collecting and processing data providing meaningful summaries and next steps
Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently
Effective communication skills and able to create and present information in a clear and concise manner to colleagues and management

Preferred

Master's degree in Engineering
Work experience in the area of spark ignition engine controls and calibration preferred but not required
DFSS green belt or higher
Execution of Problem-solving techniques (RedX, Six Sigma, 3L5W, Kaizen, 5S)
