Test Technician, Information Technology
Impulse Space is seeking an experienced IT professional to join their Service Delivery team with a focus on supporting test operations. The Test Technician role will bridge corporate IT infrastructure and engineering test operations, ensuring reliable systems, stable networks, and high standards of infrastructure maintenance.

Responsibilities
Provide direct, on-site support for company-wide IT systems, with a primary focus on test operations infrastructure, including lab networks, instrumentation systems, specialized hardware, and edge devices
Lead network deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting efforts, including VLAN design and implementation, trunking, routing, spanning tree, PoE, link aggregation, ACLs, and network performance tuning
Serve as the first responder for network and connectivity issues in test environments, coordinating with the infrastructure and network engineering teams to resolve complex problems efficiently
Support the physical layer of network infrastructure: pull, terminate, label, and test copper and fiber cabling; build patch panels; assist with conduit runs; and maintain proper cable management and labeling standards
Rack, cable, label, and maintain networking and compute hardware across test and production environments
Perform hardware lifecycle tasks including imaging, provisioning, upgrades, and component-level troubleshooting for servers, workstations, and network appliances
Implement and enforce endpoint, network, and physical security controls in alignment with corporate security policies and compliance requirements
Create and maintain operational documentation, network diagrams, and troubleshooting guides to support repeatable processes
Provide on-call or after-hours support during critical test campaigns or scheduled operations windows
Qualification
Required
5+ years of hands-on experience in IT service delivery, infrastructure support, or field engineering roles
Networking experience, including VLAN configuration, routing, trunking, spanning tree, PoE, ACLs, and Wi-Fi optimization
Demonstrated understanding of low-voltage systems and structured cabling, including pulling, terminating, labeling, and testing copper and fiber runs
Experience deploying and supporting switches, routers, and access points; command-line familiarity (Cisco, MikroTik, or similar platforms) strongly preferred
Proficient troubleshooting skills across hardware, operating systems (Windows/macOS/Linux), and network layers
Demonstrated ability to support mission-critical systems and environments where uptime and reliability are essential
Experience with endpoint management platforms (e.g., Microsoft Intune, JAMF) and identity services (e.g., Azure AD, SSO)
Preferred
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and infrastructure teams
Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or Network+, or equivalent experience
Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or aerospace test environments
Familiarity with zero-trust network segmentation or compliance-driven environments (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC)
