Education Management
Responsibilities
Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions, to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship
Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities athletes in lacrosse
Coordinate the development and promotion of the lacrosse program across the school community
Ensure all lacrosse coaches work together toward a common goal within the lacrosse program and provide unity across all levels and teams
Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate student’ athletic abilities initially and on an ongoing basis
Develop a regular practice schedule and organize practice time to provide both individual and team development
Encourage sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation at all times
Work with the Strength and Conditioning Coach to provide a year round strength and conditioning program
Encourage and support multisport athletes within Breck School
Act as a team representative and promote the sport
Attend staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance
Perform any other related duties as assigned by the MS Athletic Coordinator or other appropriate administrator
Qualification
Required
Three years of experience coaching Lacrosse
Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills
Must possess knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport
Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, governing organizations (MSHSL, NFHS, etc.), opponents, staff, parents, and athletes
Possess excellent organizational, communication, delegation, and interpersonal skills
Be an effective and timely communicator, both in written and oral form
Maintain appropriate documentation
Displays good judgment, time management, and an ability to prioritize
Represent the organization in a professional manner at all times
