Internship - Electrical Components Manufacturing - Summer 2026
Firefly Aerospace is an end-to-end responsive space transportation company focused on enabling launches and operations in space. They are seeking passionate interns to support their engineering team in developing innovative solutions for advanced manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design and develop processes, tooling, assembly fixtures and procedures
Drive projects to improve cost and cycle times
Research new manufacturing methods and production processes
Identify waste and implement process improvement opportunities
Development of fabrication tooling
Support Lean Manufacturing Initiatives
Develop and implement system support process and documentation
Perform engineering analysis to determine root cause / corrective action on problem areas
Qualification
Required
Must be currently enrolled in either a BS or MS program (or a recent graduate) at an accredited four-year university or college
Willing to work in a hands-on, constantly evolving environment
Communicates effectively, verbal and written
Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings
Passion for Advanced Manufacturing technologies and applications
Experience with CAD Software and 3D modeling
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies
Ability to use analysis to develop solutions to manufacturing problems
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Preferred
Mechanical Engineering with an interest in electrical harnesses and testing
Interest in Quality and the NCRs process with ability to address Mfg. issues with assistance from Mfg., QA & Engineering
Current Materials, Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace or Industrial Engineering degree programs
Experience with Languages like Python and/or MATLAB is a plus
