The role involves performing mechanical design and detailing of bridge components, conducting mechanical analysis, and utilizing CAD software for movable bridge design work.

Responsibilities

Review and check standard mechanical design calculations
Perform limited mechanical analysis, design, and selection of movable bridge machinery components
Use general analysis software, manufacturer-specific software, and in house programs under the direct guidance of the ME Supervisor and Senior Mechanical Engineers
Develop preliminary system layout and details using CAD software, provide information to CAD Technicians for the development of contract plans directly related to movable bridge design work
Design in a 3D environment such as Inventor and 2D CADD experience in AutoCAD preferred
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including field and construction service assignments

Required

A minimum of a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
Be capable of performing a mixture of office and field work
Registered Engineer in Training or within 6 months of obtaining
Ability to perform mechanical design and detailing of bridge components
Ability to show effective technical writing and presentation skills
Ability to perform field tasks at heights

Preferred

2D CADD experience in AutoCAD
Design in a 3D environment such as Inventor
