The role involves performing mechanical design and detailing of bridge components, reviewing design calculations, and engaging in both office and field work under the guidance of senior engineers.

Responsibilities

Review and check standard mechanical design calculations

Perform limited mechanical analysis, design, and selection of movable bridge machinery components

Use general analysis software, manufacturer-specific software, and in house programs under the direct guidance of the ME Supervisor and Senior Mechanical Engineers

Develop preliminary system layout and details using CAD software, provide information to CAD Technicians for the development of contract plans directly related to movable bridge design work

Design in a 3D environment such as Inventor and 2D CADD experience in AutoCAD preferred

Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including field and construction service assignments
