Senior Firmware Development Engineer
Toyota Material Handling North America is seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Firmware Development Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of robust firmware solutions for next-generation products. The role involves advancing the embedded Linux platform and driving innovation through technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
Design and implement firmware for complex, integrated systems while driving design reviews and best practices
Write, review, and document high-quality C++ code; enhance the Embedded Linux platform to meet evolving requirements
Lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and translate business needs into effective technical strategies
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support product innovation from design through deployment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
10+ years of hands-on firmware development experience, preferably in heavy equipment or automotive sectors
Strong expertise in C/C++ with demonstrated proficiency in multi-threading, multi-process programming, object-oriented design, and microcontroller development
Experience with embedded Linux systems (Yocto Linux preferred) and integrating wireless protocols (cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth)
Hands-on proficiency with hardware interfaces such as CAN, UART, SPI and I2C
Familiarity with full-stack development concepts in embedded IoT systems, including backend services, APIs, cloud integration (Azure preferred), and UI for embedded applications
Proven capability and enthusiasm for learning and mastering new technologies and tools
Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills
Highly autonomous, adaptable to shifting priorities, with a commitment to continuous learning and Toyota's core values
