Sr Desktop Engineer

Responsibilities

**Desktop Management** – Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, software, and peripherals in an enterprise environment
**Endpoint Management** – Configure, deploy, and manage **Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot**, ensuring performance and compliance. Provide training and support to end users and IT staff
**Application Deployment** – Build and deploy application packages using **Autopilot, PDQ, or Automox** for automation
**Security & Compliance** – Implement security protocols, track and remove **end-of-life software**, and ensure all desktop systems remain up-to-date with patches and updates
**Asset Management** – Manage the **tracking and lifecycle** of end-user assets from **procurement to disposal**, ensuring accurate inventory records
**Hardware Standards** – Identify and recommend end-user **hardware solutions** that align with company needs
**Office 365 Administration** – Maintain and optimize the **Office 365 environment**, ensuring security and efficiency
**Technical Support & Escalations** – Serve as the **escalation point** for Service Desk issues and act as the bridge between **Service Desk and Infrastructure** teams
**Documentation** – Maintain accurate records of **desktop configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps**
**Project Management** – Lead **desktop-related IT projects**, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and quality standards
**Problem Management** – Conduct **root cause analysis** for desktop hardware and software issues to prevent recurring problems
**Process Improvement** – Identify and implement enhancements to **improve desktop support and management**

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
5+ years of experience as a Desktop Engineer, with at least senior or lead-level responsibilities
Advanced knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems
Expertise in application packaging and deployment via Autopilot (experience with PDQ or Automox is a plus)
Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory / Entra ID and Group Policies
Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot implementations
Ability to troubleshoot routine network connectivity issues
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
CompTIA A+ (Required)
Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) (Required)
Microsoft Endpoint Administrator Associate (Required)

Preferred

Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT)
Project management experience is a plus
