Responsibilities

Lead commissioning of 1–50 MW energy storage systems and protection relays by overseeing installation verification, energization, functional testing, and customer handover while developing and executing detailed test plans, procedures, and safety protocols
Interface with utilities, AHJs, and customers to ensure compliance with interconnection, grid codes, and safety standards and provide technical guidance to field technicians, contractors, and junior engineers
Ensure documentation of test results, punch lists, and as-built drawings and support continuous improvement by feeding lessons learned back into design and project engineering teams
Engage with core engineering team to support R&D initiatives that involves Comprehensive, high-power testing using load simulators to validate the stability (steady-state, dynamic, and transient) of FESS and BESS. This assessment covers both grid-connected and islanded operational modes to verify the design and manufacturing quality of key components—including control cabinets, power cabinets, and high-voltage cables—in accordance with UL9540 standards
Specialized testing for microgrid design process (AC microgrid, DC microgrid and Hybrid microgrid), with FESS, BESS and EVs including benchmark compilation, microgrid element modeling, control system design, information and communication technologies, power and communication modeling, black start capabilities, power quality requirements
Coordination of voltage control, frequency control, protection, energy management, load management, and demand & response management
Testing and validation of models and equipment sizing for electrical braking of rotating machines, DC link power balance, along with the identification, testing and coordination with adequacy of safety
Testing and validation of electrical design calculations and inverter control algorithms (step response, frequency response, stability testing)
Validation of calculations on transformer sizing and testing according to DOE specs and IEEE standards
Validation of battery controller logics for operation of Battery BNMS and Grid Side Converters
