The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for providing patient services using diagnostic ultrasound equipment, producing and analyzing ultrasound images for physician diagnosis and treatment while ensuring quality patient care.

Responsibilities

Prepares & sends specimens to labs in the absence of the secretary
Prepares exam rooms before patient enters & cleans room following patient's exit
Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures by assisting them onto the table & instructing them in the procedure that is being performed
Selects & records appropriate images for the permanent
The sonographer is competent in the production & analysis of ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis & treatment
In addition, the individual must be prepared to render quality patient care by exercising discretion & judgement in the performance of sonographic services

Qualification

Diagnostic ultrasound equipmentProduction of ultrasound imagesAnalysis of ultrasound imagesCertified by ARDMSPatient care

Required

Graduate of accredited school of sonography

Preferred

Certified by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Registry eligible
