Responsibilities
Operate autonomous vehicles safely and in accordance with all traffic laws and company protocols
Conduct thorough pre-operation vehicle inspections and prepare vehicles daily for testing
Monitor system performance and environmental conditions, providing detailed reports on vehicle behavior and safety events
Collaborate with engineers and operations personnel to relay critical feedback and support continuous improvements
Maintain constant vigilance and situational awareness to anticipate and respond to unexpected hazards on the road
Uphold strict safety standards during all operations, including in adverse weather and complex urban environments
Maintain professionalism in all interactions with riders, engineers, and team members
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 3 years valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record (no DUIs or drug/alcohol offenses in last 5 years)
Proven experience as an autonomous vehicle operator, instructor, or in a role demanding exceptional driving skills and safety commitment
Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and defensive driving techniques
Ability to remain alert and focused during extended driving periods (4-8 hours daily)
Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail
Comfortable driving in various weather conditions and on different types of roads
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays and potential weekends, with shifts ranging from 6 AM to 11 PM
Preferred
Experience with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) or autonomous vehicle technologies preferred
Certification in defensive or safe driving courses
Familiarity with vehicle diagnostic tools and autonomous vehicle control systems
Prior experience working with proprietary AV hardware/software or Linux-based systems
