Responsibilities

Develop and maintain SQL databases for core financial systems, including transaction processing, compliance reporting, and real-time analytics
Write stored procedures, views, and data transformations that ensure integrity across high-volume financial data
Implement rigorous data validation, logging, and audit trails aligned with industry standards
Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in high-speed, event-driven environments where milliseconds matter
Design and document table structures, relationships, and data pipelines supporting financial operations and APIs
Partner with product, engineering, and risk teams to translate complex business logic into rock-solid database solutions
Contribute to data governance, retention, and encryption strategies that uphold confidentiality and compliance
Tune queries, refine processes, and find smarter ways to move, store, and retrieve data efficiently

Required

Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, SQL Server 2019+)
7+ years in database development—preferably in financial services, banking, or fintech environments
Advanced performance tuning and query optimization skills
Strong understanding of data integrity, transactional systems, and ACID principles
Experience working with APIs, real-time data, and event-driven architectures
A problem-solver's mindset—you love getting into the data weeds and emerging with clarity
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Comfortable in a remote, agile fintech environment where speed and precision both matter
