Responsibilities
Serve as client facing project manager on traffic engineering projects with a focus on improving safety and operations
Develop and manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects and programs
Provide written and verbal updates on the status of projects to clients and internal senior management
Present technical results and recommendations to clients
Coordinate with a wide range of subject matter experts including survey, roadway design, and environmental to successfully deliver client projects
Work with client managers and operational leaders to develop project pursuit strategies and plans
Utilize knowledge and experience conducting and documenting traffic studies following nationally accepted modeling practice
Assist engineers in developing technical approaches and review technical results prepared by others
Lead project team in the preparation of traffic engineering plans for signal designs, signing and marking designs, conceptual designs for intersections, and/or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) designs
Under leadership of senior program managers, coordinate and interface with clients to discuss technical elements of the project and present analysis results
Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and interns in areas of technical proficiency and consultancy
Qualification
Required
10+ years of relevant work experience
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Ability to obtain Florida PE within one 2months of hire
Must possess a U.S. Driver's License
Experience in operational and/or safety analysis
Experience with Traffic Analysis and Engineering principles
Experience in one or more of the following areas: FDOT design standards, ITS design, traffic operations studies, intersection conceptual drafting, or safety studies
Understanding of the use of traffic analysis tools including VISSIM, Sidra, Synchro/SimTraffic, and HCS
Understanding of the application of traffic operations principles including ITE, MUTCD, AASHTO, and state DOT requirements, policies, manuals and procedures
Experience/familiarity with Microstation and/or Bentley OpenRoads
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well in groups as well as independently
Preferred
Master's Degree in Transportation Engineering
Experience managing large tasks and/or projects
Experience with FDOT clients and projects
