Engineering Manager (Hydraulics)
RemX | The Workforce Experts is seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager with a strong background in Hydraulic Design. The ideal candidate will oversee design activities, provide technical leadership, manage project timelines and budgets, and serve as a key liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and clients.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers focused on hydraulic systems and product development
Oversee the design, analysis, and validation of hydraulic components and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, procurement, and sales to deliver on-time and within-budget solutions
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for design processes, testing protocols, and product performance
Manage project lifecycle from requirements gathering through design, prototyping, testing, and production release
Provide technical guidance and serve as a subject matter expert on hydraulic system design, including pumps, valves, actuators, and fluid dynamics
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes
Assist in recruiting, developing, and retaining top engineering talent
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Power Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred)
10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in hydraulic system design
3+ years of leadership or management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or product development environment
Proficient with CAD and hydraulic simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, AMESim, MATLAB/Simulink)
In-depth knowledge of fluid dynamics, hydraulic circuit design, and relevant standards (e.g., ISO, SAE, NFPA)
Strong project management skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and budgets
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
Preferred
Experience in automotive, industrial machinery, or aerospace industries
