Responsibilities
Host and produce a finance education podcast on YT, managing all aspects of writing, recording, and mixing while meeting tight deadlines
Respond quickly to breaking news with guest bookings, conduct interviews with industry leaders and newsmakers, and perform original reporting
Create SEO-optimized content including headlines, show descriptions, and social media materials to grow audience that help bring new audiences to the podcast and encourage listening
Collaborate with editors, producers and the social-media team to promote the podcast and Wealthion on social media, in newsletters and in outside media
Interview external sources, asking insightful questions on the fly that get to the story in a conversational way
Conduct original reporting that distinguishes the podcast from other finance podcast offerings
Proactively propose interviews and episode ideas, working ahead to ensure the show has a consistent pipeline of strong and timely interview opportunities
Book newsmakers and industry leaders, and thoroughly research and prepare for interviews that will make news and lead the conversation
Pitch and execute special series and coverage, including narrative-style episodes
Ensure all content meets the highest production values and all Wealthion journalistic and legal standards are followed
Have the ability to meet tight deadlines in a changing news environment and work under pressure and pivot when news events warrant, moving quickly to change show plans
Representing Wealthion at industry events and conferences as needed
Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as news warrants, handle multiple projects simultaneously, various stages of development and and maintain high production standards
Qualification
Required
3+ years working in finance or financial reporting and experience in reporting/hosting
Must understand the financial markets around gold, precious metals, and their role in investment portfolios
Engaging on-mic and video presence
Video comfort
Strong interviewing abilities across various formats
Ability to articulate complex financial ideas clearly, concisely, and with enthusiasm, making them relatable to both seasoned investors and those new to finance
Proficiency in Riverside and YT studio for editing, mixing and posting
Field recording experience a plus
Strong editorial judgment
Broad knowledge of current events/economics
Accurate fact-checking and delivering accurate research and scripts
Robust industry contact network
Excellent communication/collaboration skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Solid understanding of economics, investing, and market dynamics is essential
You're comfortable discussing a wide range of financial topics
You're genuinely committed to helping others improve their financial literacy and achieve their wealth-building goals
Preferred
A background in podcasting, radio, video or another comparable medium is preferred
Experience in storytelling in multiple formats, including narrative-style podcasting, is a plus
Experience with field recording is a plus
