Postdoctoral Scholar - Quantum Systems
Penn State University is looking to hire a postdoctoral scholar in the research laboratory of Dr. Thomas Iadecola. The successful candidate will perform theoretical research at the interface of quantum many-body physics and quantum information science, focusing on dynamics in quantum systems and quantum algorithms.

Perform theoretical research at the interface of quantum many-body physics and quantum information science
Specific topics of interest include dynamics in closed and open quantum systems, digital and analog quantum simulation with quantum computers or atomic-physics platforms, and quantum algorithms for quantum many-body physics
Qualification
Required
A PhD in Physics is required
The ideal candidate will have numerical simulation skills with exact diagonalization/quantum-circuit techniques and/or approximate tensor-network methods
Analytical skills with integrability, random-matrix theory, dual-unitary circuits, hydrodynamics, or field-theoretic methods are also beneficial
Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies
