Responsibilities

Perform calculations and support validation experiments to maintain nuclear safety performance engineering calculations and assessments for nuclear power plants, waste treatment and severe accident modeling. Severe accident modeling will include thermal-hydraulics modeling and analysis, heat and mass transfer radiological source term

Support thermal hydraulic analysis for system performance, water hammer, and other thermal hydraulic phenomena

Support software development and implement mathematical models into a C++ codebase, Fortran, and Python

Prepare documentation for evaluations

Verify first of a kind evaluations

Qualification

Required

BS Engineering (Nuclear, Chemical or Mechanical)

Minimum 6 plus years of applicable experience

Mathematical and modeling such as: Thermodynamics, Transport phenomena (momentum, heat, and mass), Kinetics, Multi-phase flow modeling

Modular Accident Analysis Program (MAAP)

RELAP

PRA (Probabilistic Risk Assessments)

C++, Fortran, Visual Basic, MathCAD or Python
